For freelance photographers & videographers
Freelance photography jobs in Nepal, from studios that plan ahead.
Wedding season is busy, and studios regularly need a second shooter, a videographer, a drone operator or an editor for a few days. Smaran is where those studios look first — and where your work and reputation travel with you from one shoot to the next.
How freelancers get work on Smaran
You create a free profile with your province and district, your crafts — photographer, cinematographer, drone pilot, editor and more — and a short note about your style. Studios using Smaran can then find freelancers in the district a wedding is happening in and invite them straight onto the project.
You see the invitation with the date, the role and the agreed payment, and you accept or decline. Once you accept, you are on the crew list with the rest of the team, with your tasks and deadlines in one place.
- Free to join, with no commission taken on what a studio pays you
- Invitations arrive with the role, the dates and the payment up front
- Your profile is only shown to studios inside their panel — your phone number and email are never published on the open web
- Studios rate you after the shoot, so good work is remembered by the next studio
Be findable wherever the weddings are
Weddings do not stay in Kathmandu. A destination wedding in Pokhara, a hill-station shoot, a second shooter needed in Chitwan or Biratnagar — studios want someone local who can be there on the day. Listing your district means you are a short drive away instead of a flight.
Is Smaran a job board?
Not exactly. There is no open list of jobs to scroll and apply to. Smaran is the project and crew tool that photography studios already run their wedding season on, and freelancers on it get invited by those studios. That means fewer cold applications and more direct bookings from people who are already organised.
