How to price wedding photography packages in Nepal

Updated · 2 min read

There is no single correct price for wedding photography in Nepal. Prices depend on your city, your experience, the number of days and events, and how large your team is. What matters is that you price on purpose, from your real costs, instead of copying whatever the studio next door charges.

Start from your real costs

Add up what a wedding actually costs you to deliver, not only the day itself.

  • Pay for your photographers, videographers, assistants and drone operators
  • Travel, food and accommodation for events outside your city
  • Editing and album design time, which is often longer than the shoot
  • Printing, albums, drives and any other deliverables
  • Equipment wear, insurance and software
  • Your own time, rent and marketing across the whole season

Decide what each package includes

Couples compare packages by what they get, so be specific. State the number of days and events covered, the number of photographers and videographers, the number of edited photos, whether there is a highlight film, the album size and the delivery date. Two or three clear packages are easier to sell than ten overlapping ones.

Price your extra events and add-ons separately

Nepali weddings often run over several days with different events. Quote per event or per day for pre-wedding events, the ceremony and the reception, and list add-ons such as extra albums, drone coverage, a pre-wedding shoot or rush editing. This keeps the base package fair and stops scope from growing silently.

Quote in writing and take an advance

Send every client a written quotation that shows each item and the total, and agree on an advance to hold the date. Spell out when the balance is due and what happens if the date changes. A clear document protects both sides.

In Smaran, studios keep a price list of cost items and generate a quotation for each inquiry, so the same prices are used every time and nothing is retyped.

Review your prices every season

At the end of each season, compare what you charged with what each wedding actually cost you in time and money. If a package consistently runs over, raise it or trim what it includes. Pricing is something you improve with data, not guesswork.

Frequently asked questions

How much should I charge for wedding photography in Nepal?

It depends on your city, experience, team size and the number of events and days covered. Work out your real delivery costs first, then add a margin that pays for your time and growth.

Should I publish my prices?

Many studios share starting prices for packages and quote the rest in writing, because every wedding differs. Whatever you choose, give clients a clear written quotation before they pay an advance.

Can Smaran create quotations for clients?

Yes. Studios keep a price list of cost items and generate a professional quotation for each inquiry or project.
